Projects Benefitting Wilson County
- The North Carolina Men’s Health Report Card draws from numerous sources to provide a comprehensive overview of the health landscape for men across the state.
- Carolina researchers created the Rural Research Alliance of Community Pharmacies, which is the first multi-state practice-based research network exclusively for rural community pharmacies.
- The Rural Pharmacy Health Certificate Program launched by the Eshelman School of Pharmacy works with the school’s recruitment team to attract students from rural counties in an effort to grow the rural health care workforce across North Carolina.
- The UNC Kenan Institute for Private Enterprise cultivates an economic development ecosystem in Eastern North Carolina with funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
- With funding from the National Cancer Institute, the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center studies ways to reduce health disparities in cancer patients.
- With funding from Duke University, the UNC School of Medicine runs a free telephone consultation and education program called NC-PAL to help health care providers address the behavioral health needs of pediatric and perinatal patients.
