Projects Benefitting Rowan County
- With funding from the National College Advising Corps, UNC-Chapel Hill's Carolina College Advising Corps aims to help low-income, first generation, and under-represented North Carolinian students attend college.
- Led by the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and funded by the Duke Endowment, researchers are working to improve maternity care practices and breastfeeding rates in hospitals located in underserved communities.

In a study by the Nutritional Research Institute in Kannapolis, volunteer participants with cognitive issues consumed wild blueberries daily for six months and their brains’ information processing ability improved.
