Office of Sponsored Research: Protects researchers from possible consequences of non-compliance issues by establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external customers.
Research Compliance Program: Advances the highest standards of ethics, integrity and honesty, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies governing research, privacy, and conflict of interest.
Clinical Trials: Serves as a central resource for UNC faculty, staff and departments involved in clinical trials research and for sponsors seeking to conduct clinical trials at UNC.
Comparative Medicine: Provides programs of excellence in veterinary care and laboratory animal management practices for all species used in UNC-CH research endeavors.
Animal Care and Use Committee: Oversees the University’s animal care and use program and is responsible for reviewing all animal care application.
Conflict of Interest: Identifies and manages conflicting relationships, restricting activities where necessary, to preserve transparency, independent decision-making, protection of research subjects, and integrity of the educational experience.
IRB and the Office of Human Research Ethics: Responsible for ethical and regulatory oversight of research at UNC-Chapel Hill that involves human subjects.
Postdoctoral Affairs: Supports postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and help to prepare postdoctoral scholars for successful research careers.
Industry Contracting: Responsible for reviewing and executing sponsored research agreements with private industry, including sponsored research agreements, clinical trial agreements, and subcontracts.
Research Information Systems: Provides quality IT/IS support to Research offices involved in all aspects of the research enterprise at Carolina.
Research Communications: Conveys the excitement of creativity, the rigors and risks of the quest for new knowledge, and the value and benefits of UNC research to the people of North Carolina and the world.
