Projects Benefitting Duplin County
- The North Carolina Men’s Health Report Card draws from numerous sources to provide a comprehensive overview of the health landscape for men across the state.
- Carolina researchers created the Rural Research Alliance of Community Pharmacies, which is the first multi-state practice-based research network exclusively for rural community pharmacies.
- The Rural Pharmacy Health Certificate Program launched by the Eshelman School of Pharmacy works with the school’s recruitment team to attract students from rural counties in an effort to grow the rural health care workforce across North Carolina.
- With funding from the National Science Foundation, researchers in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health evaluate the effect of hurricane Florence on the safety of drinking water.
- Led by the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and funded by the Duke Endowment, researchers are working to improve maternity care practices and breastfeeding rates in hospitals located in underserved communities.
