 Key details of the transition

On June 1, 2026, access to our current version of iThenticate will end

  • Plan for downtime of approximately 24 hours.
  • During this time, the University’s enterprise account will be upgraded to the latest version of iThenticate and UNC Office of Research Information Systems (ORIS) will finalize the new SSO configuration.

Access iThenticate 2.0 from an updated “single sign on” SSO URL

  • You will no longer access iThenticate from the url we have been using. If you have the url bookmarked or saved somewhere, please delete it as it will no longer be functional. The University’s webpages associated with iThenticate will be updated.
  • Once our SSO is reconfigured with iThenticate 2.0, active users will receive automated emails from [email protected] with the new url to access iThenticate moving forward.
  • You must follow this link to activate your new iThenticate 2.0 account.
  • Your existing username from iThenticate will be populated upon activating your 2.0 account. Please do not change your username at this time as it will create a secondary account for you in iThenticate 2.0.

Accessing past submissions

  • Submissions previously made to iThenticate will be available in the new version upon login to your new account. You will find your past submissions under “My Files.”
  • If you wish to download any Similarity Reports or submissions you have made to iThenticate thus far, please download them prior to June 1, 2026.
