In a recent announcement from the chancellor, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research has new leadership, and Dr. Penny Gordon-Larsen, Associate Dean for Research at the Gillings School of Global Public Health and Carla Smith Chamblee Distinguished Professor of Global Nutrition will serve as interim Vice Chancellor for Research. The Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) Information Sheet reflects this change in Institutional Official (IO).
Proposals or amendments submitted on or after March 12, 2022 should list Penny Gordon-Larsen as the Institutional Official. Any changes to award information effective on March 11, 2022, and prior should represent Terry Magnuson as the IO.
In the coming weeks, OSR will continue to update applicable federal systems to reflect the change in IO as well as other sponsor systems utilized for sponsored programs administration. If there are any priority requests for assistance related to this change, please contact ResAdminOSR@unc.edu.
Change in Signatures
Effective with this change in Institutional Official, please note that all OSR and Sponsored Programs Office (SPO) signing officials / authorized official representatives (AOR) with delegated signature authority at UNC-CH will now sign agreements as follows:
- AOR First and Last Name
- on behalf of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Cayuse Update
Penny Gordon-Larsen has now been added to Cayuse with the role of Signing Official & AOR. On any new proposal applications, you can click on the pencil icon to find and autofill her contact information into the SF424 Authorized Representative section.
On existing proposals where the SF424 Authorized Representative has already been selected as Terry Magnuson, you will need to first remove [X] the pre-selected name and then click on the pencil icon to select and autofill with Penny Gordon-Larsen’s information.
