NoAthleticThe student athletic fee provides university students the opportunity to attend regular season athletic events, including home contests for football and basketball. It is also used to provide additional funding for the olympic sport programs in the areas of operating budgets and coaches salaries. The fee is used to help maintain athletic fields and facilities, some of which are used by members of the student body and university community. No Campus RecreationCampus Recreation strives to meet the recreation and fitness needs of all UNC students, including undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, and faculty/staff through a variety of facilities, equipment, and programs. Campus Recreation also provides employment opportunities which will, in turn, enhance students' skills in the areas of responsibility, decision making, crisis management, conflict resolution and interpersonal relations, among others. The majority of Campus Recreation’s funds are generated by the mandatory student fee. Revenue generated through the sale of guest passes, facility rentals, specialty programs and belay certifications helps to reduce the total dependence on Student Fees. No Carolina Union OperatingThe Carolina Union is a student fee funded 50 year old facility that operates without state revenue privileges. These funds support and maintain the facility and operate it in a sufficient and safe manner. Not only does the Carolina Union support the entire student population of the campus it also supports major university reputational programs such as Admission visits, New Student Orientation, and multiple career readiness events with participating Fortune 500 companies. No Ramshead Rec Center DebtThe Rams Head Recreation Debt Service Fee has been used to pay the principal and interest allocated to the Recreation Funds portion of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill General Revenue Bonds, Series 2003, the original financing. This fee is currently used to pay debt service on outstanding bonds issued for the construction/renovation of three projects: the Student Union expansion in 2000, the Student Union basement renovation in 2012, and the improvements to Intramural Fields 3&4 in 2004.
NoGrad Student Programming The Graduate School currently charges each graduate and professional student a one-time fee at the beginning of their academic career at UNC-CH. The fee is charged to students whose programs are under the supervision of the Graduate School, which excludes professional programs such as MAC, MBA, PharmD, and MD programs. The majority of the services provided by the Graduate Programming fee are accessible to and intended for graduate students to utilize throughout their academic careers.$24.50$12.25$12.25
NoNight Parking - only charged in Fall semesterHistorically, daytime permit holders and patient and visitor parking revenue have subsidized the overall cost of the parking system and a portion of the transit costs. Early on, though, campus community feedback indicated that the costs for the self-funded transportation and parking system should be more equitably distributed among all users.
