UNC / BASF Research Symposium

The purpose of this day-long symposium is to encourage interdisciplinary exchange of ideas, interests, and expertise between industry and academia. Participants will include leadership and scientists from BASF business units across North America as well as leadership, faculty, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars from UNC-Chapel Hill. A mixture of presentations, breakout groups, poster presentations and round tables will ensure active engagement of participants from both BASF and UNC-Chapel Hill.
The objectives of this symposium are to:
- Facilitate opportunities for networking and collaboration between BASF and UNC-Chapel Hill scientists
- Identify and discuss ideas on topics that are of interest to both BASF and UNC-Chapel Hill
- Communicate and disseminate research performed at UNC-Chapel Hill by faculty, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars to an audience of scientists and leadership from industry
- Convey current and ongoing challenges from across the BASF business units and identify opportunities for collaboration with UNC-Chapel Hill scientists to address these challenges
- Provide a forum for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to talk with BASF scientists from a variety of backgrounds and career paths, ask questions and get a clear understanding of industry culture and career opportunities at BASF
This event is being jointly organized by the UNC Office of Foundation Relations and Industry Engagement and the BASF NA Expert Community.
