Jamie Kauwell
Jamie’s responsibilities include advancing institutional compliance initiatives, streamlining research processes, and collaborating with the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research Compliance to support university-wide research studies. Under Jamie’s guidance, a team of experienced auditors has been developed to provide expert support to research personnel across UNC.
Jamie Kauwell is a Certified Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC) professional with over two decades of experience in clinical research. Jamie currently serves as the Interim Director of the Clinical Research Compliance Office (CRCO) and Director of the Clinical Trials Quality Assurance (CTQA) Program at the University of North Carolina (UNC).
In these leadership roles, Jamie partners closely with investigators and research teams to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and institutional policies. Over the past nine years at UNC, Jamie has made significant contributions to both the Office of Human Research Ethics and the CTQA Program, driving improvements in research compliance and operational efficiency.
