About the Research Compliance Committee
The Research Compliance Committee (RCC) is UNC-Chapel Hill’s central coordinating body for strengthening the University’s research compliance infrastructure. The RCC brings together faculty, staff, administrators, and other campus partners to identify institutional priorities, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and develop practical solutions to research compliance needs.
Through collaboration, shared responsibility, continuous improvement, and institutional agility, the RCC supports ethical research conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and institutional standards.
Research Compliance Committee Structure
The RCC is organized into:
Steering Group: The RCC’s strategic leadership body. It establishes priorities, authorizes Links, provides guidance and oversight, and reviews Link progress and outcomes.
Links: Cross-functional, action-oriented tiger teams established to address defined RCC priorities, institutional needs, or projects. Each Link operates under an approved charge, scope, intended outcomes, and timeframe.
Membership Body: A representative network of research compliance leaders and professionals who provide campus perspectives, identify emerging needs, share information, and contribute to RCC priorities and initiatives.
RCC Community: The broader community of investigators, staff, administrators, and campus partners who participate in or are affected by the University’s research compliance activities.
