Fly America Act
Per the Fly America Act (FAA) the U.S. Federal Government requires federally funded travel to use a “U.S. flag” air carrier to the furthest destination possible, with certain exemptions.
Department of Justice Data Rule
The Department of Justice Data Rule is designed to reduce the risk that large-scale datasets could be exploited for surveillance, targeting, or other activities that could compromise individual privacy or national security.
Combatting Human Trafficking in Research
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research provides researchers with tools to engage in ethical and compliant global research. When federal agencies award projects with large global components, they may require a compliance plan to safeguard against human trafficking during the project.
Controlled Unclassified Information
Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) is information that is created or owned by the Federal Government that requires additional measures of safeguarding, but it is not considered classified information. At UNC, CUI is either received from federal agencies or created during work with federal proprietary information.
