Carter joins Carolina from Washington University in St. Louis and will serve as UNC-Chapel Hill’s vice chancellor for innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development, as well as chief innovation officer, effective October 30.
Following a national search, Penny Gordon-Larsen, who has served as interim vice chancellor for research since March of last year, has accepted the position on a permanent basis.
The two-year program will run from Fall 2023 to Spring 2025 and will award faculty from across campus $5,000 to support their engaged scholarship and partnerships.
