How to Participate in PULSE (For Core Facilities)
1. Complete the Project Proposal Form
- Provide a clear project title, description, and expected outcomes.
- Outline the skills and experiences a postdoc will gain through participation.
- Indicate the time commitment (typically 4–8 hours per week for up to three months).
- Identify a primary mentor or supervisor who will guide and support the postdoc.
- Include a brief onboarding or training plan to ensure a smooth start.
2. Submit Online
- Upload the completed form through the Core Proposal Submission Portal.
- Once received, your submission will be reviewed for alignment with the goals of the PULSE initiative.
3. Posting and Promotion of Opportunities
- Approved projects will be featured on the PULSE webpage and advertised to the postdoctoral community and their faculty mentors.
- This outreach helps raise visibility of your Core Facility’s capabilities across departments.
4. Review Postdoc Applicants
- All qualified applicants will be forwarded to participating Core Directors for consideration.
- You may interview interested postdocs to discuss project expectations and ensure a strong match.
- Participation is optional; Core Directors may choose whether or not to accept an applicant.
5. Finalize Agreement
- Once a match is made, the Postdoc, Core Facility, and Faculty Mentor will sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) outlining project scope, responsibilities, and expectations.
6. Review
- Provide guidance and feedback to the postdoc throughout the project.
- At the project’s conclusion, complete a short evaluation to share outcomes and insights with the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA).
