Center for Bioethics

The Center for Bioethics facilitates research, education and consultation on ethical issues in biomedical research and health care. The center is sponsored by the School of Medicine and includes faculty from, and partnerships with, programs across the University and the UNC Health system.

Asian American Center (AAC)

The Asian American Center’s mission is to cultivate a critical understanding of Asian American peoples, cultures, and histories.

Blood Research Center

The UNC Blood Research Center (BRC) was established to promote interdisciplinary research in non-malignant blood disorders across UNC.

Thurston Arthritis Research Center (TARC)

Our mission is to investigate the causes, consequences and treatments of arthritis and autoimmune diseases, and to reduce their impact on patients, their families and society.

Systems-Proteomics Center (Sysprot)

The Systems-Proteomics Core Facility provides the following services: 2D-Gel Electrophoresis, 2D-Differential in Gel Electrophoresis, Maldi-MS Tissue Imaging, Protein Network Analysis, Neuroproteomics, Protein arrays, Experimental design for systems proteomics, and analysis of post-translational modifications.

Sustainable Energy Research Consortium (SERC)

SERC, the UNC Sustainable Energy Research Consortium is positioning the University to be a leader in formulating a sustainable energy future. Our current research focus is on energy storage research in the areas of liquid solar fuels and next-generation battery technologies.

Parr Center for Ethics

The Parr Center for Ethics has proudly served as Carolina’s focal point for inquiry into and discussion of ethical questions since 2004. The mission of the Parr Center is to nourish and foster ethical reflection and moral sensitivity on campus and beyond, guided by the conviction that ethics is everywhere. The Parr Center sees ethical reflection as a pervasive element of human life that is relevant to all fields of endeavor and at all stages of the lifespan, and it is committed to integrating abstract work in ethical theory with thoughtful, informed exploration of ethical issues important to the University and the communities it serves.
