New KickStart assistant director primes startups for growth
Judy Prasad is embracing her new role as assistant director of KickStart Venture Services, a department in Innovate Carolina’s Office of Technology Commercialization. She is equipping entrepreneurial inventors and research-based startups with the resources, investor connections, training and talent they need to flourish and grow.
Valorie Buchholz appointed deputy research compliance officer
Valorie Buchholz is the first to serve in this newly created position, in which she will provide strategic oversight and coordination of institutional research compliance programs that promote the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and responsibility within the university's research enterprise. She most recently served as associate director for quality assurance in the OVCR’s Office of Clinical Trials.
FPG Research and Evaluation Division welcomes new lead
On July 1, Ann Sam became the lead of the Research and Evaluation Division at the UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute. In this role, she plans to think more broadly and strategically about collaborations within the FPG Research and Evaluation Division as well as among FPG's other divisions.
iThenticate now available to Carolina research community
The plagiarism detection software program is a new resource for our research community that should always be used to evaluate documents prior to submission to journals, funding agencies, or academic repositories. iThenticate can also be used to screen student dissertations, theses, and final papers before submission or committee review.
