The mission of the Office of Research Information Systems (ORIS) is to provide quality IT/IS support to Research offices involved in all aspects of the research enterprise at Carolina. ORIS also designs and maintains cutting-edge information systems for use by faculty and staff within the research community.

The mission of the Office of Research Development (ORD) is to engage researchers in the development of interdisciplinary research and to support the research needs of faculty throughout the university.

The Office of Research Communications (ORC) informs the public about research activities through Endeavors magazine, news articles, and other media.

The vision of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is to foster success among postdoctoral scholars today that will enhance their professional endeavors tomorrow. Our mission is to enhance, support, and promote postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and help to prepare postdoctoral scholars for successful research careers.

The Office of Human Research Ethics (OHRE) is responsible for ethical and regulatory oversight of research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill that involves human subjects.
