A team of specialists and students led by the College’s Jodi Magness has uncovered a spectacular mosaic panel in the late Roman synagogue at Huqoq, an ancient Jewish village in Israel’s Lower Galilee.
The institute’s Faculty Fellowship Program will provide support for Frank Leibfarth, associate professor in the Department of Chemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences, whose research includes expanding options for recycling.
The funds will be used to establish the Research Triangle Center of Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation, which will work with FDA scientists to perform cutting edge scientific research to better inform and support the FDA’s needs. The center will also involve collaborations with North Carolina State University and North Carolina Central University.
Finance Professor Camelia Kuhnen is an expert in neuroeconomics, behavioral finance and corporate finance. An over-arching theme of her work is understanding how people make financial and economic choices.
This year there are 33 recipients in total, with 24 from the College of Arts and Sciences, four from the Gillings School of Global Public Health, two from the School of Education, and one each from the School of Nursing, School of Social Work, and School of Medicine.
