March 14, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

PDA TRUtalks Series Presents:

Vitamin D(efficiency): A Pandemic in the Dark
Tuesday March 14th 6:30-7:30 PM

Are you Vitamin D deficient? For most of you the answer will be “I don’t know” since it is not routinely checked by your doctor. However, Vitamin D deficiency can have a big impact on your overall health. With about 50% of the population not having enough vitamin D in their body we have to take a closer look at vitamin D and its impact on our bodies. But what is Vitamin D? Why is it so important? And how can you get enough of this essential vitamin? If you want to know the answers to these questions, come join us on March 14th from 6:30 – 7:30 pm at TRU Deli in Chapel Hill when Dr. Megan Knuth will present her work for a general audience on the health impacts of Vitamin D deficiency.

TruTalks is a free series, organized by postdocs, to share the exciting research being carried out at UNC with the local community. All talks are delivered by engaging professionals who are leading experts in their fields of research. Talks take place on the first Tuesday of every 2nd month at TRU Deli Sandwich and Wine Bar in Chapel Hill (https://www.trudeli.com). No background knowledge is required – everyone is welcome!
