Dara Wilson-Grant, formerly the associate director in the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA), is now the director of postdoc career and professional development within the office.

As associate director, Wilson-Grant provided individual career counseling and coaching to postdoctoral scholars. She also designed, presented, and coordinated an array of career and professional development programs.

In her new role, she continues to provide counseling and professional development services for postdocs and develop and implement programs and workshops. In addition, Wilson-Grant now manages communications for postdoc career services and resources including the professional development newsletter and website. She also collects, assesses, and reports postdoc outcomes data to provide information about what career areas Carolina postdocs are transitioning into after they complete training at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Wilson-Grant holds a master’s degree in Counseling from Fordham University and a BA in Business Administration from Goucher College. She is also a National Certified Counselor and a Certified Human Resource Recruitment Specialist. Prior to joining OPA in July of 2006, she was the Assistant Director at UNC-Chapel Hill’s career center and an instructor at the School of Education. Throughout her career, Wilson-Grant has worked with students and professionals in a wide range of disciplines and career fields. However, her specialty is working with postdoctoral scholars and mid-career professionals in transition.
