OMB COVID-19 Flexibilities

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has not issued an update to further extend administrative relief guidelines as outlined in prior memoranda M-20-26 - Extension of Administrative Relief for Recipients and Applicants of Federal Financial Assistance Directly Impacted by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) due to Loss of Operations. eRA Commons Updates
Effective October 30, 2020, institutions that receive specified institutional research training grants, institutional career development awards, and research education awards are required to submit the automated Trainee Diversity Report electronically when submitting Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPRs) in eRA Commons. Continue

eRA Commons JIT Screen: New Look
The Just-In-Time screen in eRA Commons has a new look following the release on October 30, 2020. This new update is intended to improve the user experience and provide a cleaner more intuitive interface. Continue

November GSHP Files Uploaded
The November GSHIP premium file has been uploaded into ConnectCarolina and departments now have access to the GradStar GSHIP Administrator Premium Maintenance page to update allocations to Research Assistants/Teaching Assistants (RA/TAs). Continue

Pandemic Tracking Updates
This memo acts as a reminder that all campus units (excluding School of Medicine) should continue to use FAECOVID-19 in either ConnectCarolina Cost Code field 1 or 2 for all expenditure transactions (AP vouchers and GL journals) to identify COVID-19 related operating expenses, except for COVID Research Projects that are already tracked via Project ID. Continue

IC Speaker Form
Each year, the University brings in quite a number of guest speakers to address students and participate in forums across campus. To help speed up the process of hiring a guest speaker to present to our campus community, an updated Speaker Checklist Form has been released. Continue

HSRA New Sub-Account Codes
Effective October 1, 2020, HRSA began using the Document Number as the Sub-Account Code for all new and competing continuation awards issued after 10/1/2020Continue
