Office of Sponsored Research

The primary function of the OSR is to manage all aspects of sponsored research administration including proposal review, award negotiation, and institutional stewardship. Specific functions performed by OSR include training and development, cost analysis (F&A cost rate development, recharge center oversight and cost reporting), regulatory compliance, information management and dissemination. The Office works in concert with departmental offices and central administration.

Office of Clinical Trials

The Office of Clinical Trials (OCT) negotiates and executes clinical trial agreements between the University and the industry sponsors of the trials. OCT also processes clinical trial subcontracts, other types of agreements related to clinical research at UNC, and their associated IPFs.(link)

Sponsored Programs Office, SOM

The Sponsored Programs Office (SPO) signs for UNC-CH SOM on proposals to NIH (R, K & F Series) and American Heart Association(AHA) and American Cancer Association (ACA) typically, single investigator awards. (link)

Office of Research Development

The Office of Research Development (ORD) supports the research needs of faculty throughout the university. It coordinates the university nomination of faculty for awards and grants and advises multidisciplinary teams as they create competitive proposals. It also offers workshops to help faculty promote their research. (link)

The Funding Information Portal helps UNC-Chapel Hill faculty, staff, and graduate students find funding. In addition, assistance and instruction on the best use of our resources are available. (link)
