Shape, not just size, impacts effectiveness of emerging nano-medicine therapies

Chemist Joseph DeSimone and colleagues demonstrated that nanoparticles designed with a specific shape, size, and surface chemistry are taken up into cells and behave differently within cells depending on these attributes.

MSG use linked to obesity

A study of Chinese men and women by researchers in China and the School of Public Health found that people with similar physical activity and calorie intake were more likely to be overweight or obese if they used MSG in their food.

Two-thirds of severe sports injuries to female students due to cheerleading

The report by Frederick Mueller, director of the National Centerfor Catastrophic Sports Injury Research, indicates that even more severe sports injuries than previously thought happen in cheerleading.
