Trial Subscription to Community of Science (COS) Quick Form for PHS 398 Biographical Sketch
From April 11-21, 2003, the GrantSource Library has free access to COS Quick Form. COS Quick Form allows researchers to quickly and easily create the PHS 398 Biographical Sketch required by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in all proposal submissions.

Each COS Expertise profile has fields for all the information that the NIH requires. The Center for Scientific Review at the NIH has reviewed COS Quick Form. NIH will accept the output of COS Quick Form as a substitute for the printed PHS 398 Biographical Sketch when COS Quick Form is used according to the Center’s guidelines. Using information from your COS Expertise profile, COS Quick Form creates a completed PHS 398 Biographical Sketch. You can fill out the form in seconds, with no rekeying, cutting, or pasting.

Before using COS Quick Form, faculty researchers and postdocs should update their COS Expertise profiles. Researchers who do not have a COS Expertise profile will need to create one.

For instructions on how to use COS Quick Form, download the handout from the Research Administration Support Group (RASG) web page.

Remote Access to Community of Science (COS)
If you are going to be away for the summer, we would especially like to remind you that you can still access the Community of Science funding database from off campus. From a home office, a vacation spot, or any other location, the COS Workbench provides convenient access to all COS services. All you need to do is login to your COS Workbench at http://login.cos.com to be able to use COS services, including your customized COS Funding Alert account.
