OHRP Announces New Web Resource
The Health and Human Services Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) has created a new human subject protections resource webpage. The site contains information on:
- HHS human subject protection regulation sites;
- common rule agencies/departments;
- historical documents/information;
- Federal Register notices; and

NIH Research on Ethical Issues in Human Subjects Research
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) plans to issue Program Announcements (PA) to reissue "Research on Ethical Issues in Human Studies," which was previously issued as PA-02-103. These PA's will solicit research project grant applications addressing the ethical issues that accompany the conduct of human subjects research. READ MORE
Predictive Science Academic Alliance Program
The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the Sandia National Laboratories, with funding provided by the National Nuclear Security Administration's Advanced Simulation and Computing program, are announcing the Predictive Science Academic Alliance Program. This opportunity involves leading universities in establishing validated, large-scale, multi-disciplinary, simulation-based predictive science as major academic and applied research programs. OHRP Workshop on Acceptable Risk

The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) is sponsoring a workshop on human subjects protections in biomedical and behavioral research. This educational event will:
- provide interpretation of Department of Health and Human Services regulations;
- examine special protections for including vulnerable population groups in research;
- address the responsibilities of those involved in human subjects research; and
- discuss the application of the ethical principles and guidelines for the protection of human research subjects. READ MORE
AAAS Annual R&D Update
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has published its annual R&D Funding Update for the proposed 2007 federal budget. The report includes detailed information on R&D by agency, theme, and discipline. The full-text of the report and the summary analysis are available on the AAAS website.
NTP Nominations to the Toxicology Testing Program
The National Toxicology Program (NTP) has issued a request for comments on its toxicological study nominations for 2006. NTP lists each substance, the entity recommending it for study, the rationale behind its inclusion in the list, and any preliminary recommendations.
