National Science Foundation Regional Grants Conference
The National Science Foundation Regional Grants Conference is an opportunity for faculty, researchers, and administrators to gain key insight into a wide range of current issues at NSF including the state of current funding, new and current policies and procedures, and pertinent administrative issues. NSF Requests Proposals for Research Projects on Graduate Education
The National Science Foundation (NSF) announced funding for research projects on graduate education through the Research on Learning and Education (ROLE) program. Proposals for research that can serve as a basis for strengthening graduate education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines as well as graduate education in STEM education are encouraged.
While proposals on graduate education have always been welcome in ROLE, there have been few proposals submitted on this topic. The objective of this activity is to build a research community that can more effectively address current trends in science, technology, engineering and mathematics graduate education. Small projects (e.g., workshops, exploratory research, planning, and design projects) for one year are encouraged generally not to exceed $100,000 and large projects for 3 years not to exceed $1.8 million in total award size. HRSA Releases Mini-Preview of New Grant Opportunities in Health
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announced the availability of funds in the HRSA Mini-Preview for spring 2004. This supplemental edition provides information on funding programs not initially announced in the full HRSA Preview published in September 2003. The 16 new programs include health professionals training, childbirth-related depression in women, rural health policy and best practices, and others. READ MORE

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) annual report on research and development in the federal budget is now available online. This reference work provides a comprehensive analysis of R&D in the President's budget for FY 2005.
