The most efficient way of identifying relevant funding opportunities is to conduct a funding search using keywords, award types, citizenship, geographic location, and other terms describing yourself and your research. For more information on setting up a personalized funding search, contact the GrantSource Library at 962-3463 or gs@unc.edu.
Electronic IPF Now Available
The Internal Processing Form (IPF), which the university requires with every grant application for outside funding, can now be filled out and submitted online. Until August 31, 2004, grant administrators and researchers can complete either the e-version or the Microsoft Word version of the IPF. After that date, the Word version will no longer be accepted. While it is not necessary to be trained to use the e-version, the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) is offering two training sessions:
- Date: May 17, 2004
Time: 1:00 p.m.
Location: House Undergraduate Library, Computer Lab
Registration: Contact Phyllis Daugherty at 843-2609. - Date: May 18, 2004
Time: 9:00 a.m.
Location: House Undergraduate Library, Computer Lab
Registration: Contact Phyllis Daugherty at 843-2609.
The e-version of the IPF now offers a section on intellectual property to identify potential patents, with pull-down menus to help you answer questions. For instance, if you want to add a sponsor, investigator, dean, or director, you can simply choose a name from the existing list on the drop- down menu. The IPF on the web offers a great deal of flexibility to the person completing it. Read more about the e-version of the IPF in the University Gazette.
