Dental Procedures in Canines

- Dental procedures in dogs will still have to be handled by the IACUC on a case-by-case basis.
- For root canal procedures not more than 8-10 teeth should be manipulated per dog.
- All dogs must be intubated for dental procedures requiring anesthesia. The preferred anesthetic agent is Isoflurane.
- Pain medication to be administered preemptively as well as postoperatively for 48 hours.
