Finding Funding 101
The following are the recommended steps that will lead you through the
GrantSource Library's resources to find funding opportunities:
-
- Graduate
students: The GrantSource Library provides monthly workshops as well
as customized department workshops that
cover the basics of identifying funding sources and how to use the resources
of the library.
- Faculty,
staff and postdoctoral scholars: The library offers tailored workshops
for departments and research groups upon request. GrantSource librarians
are also available for individual faculty and staff consultations.
-
- The GrantSource Library offers access to several multidisciplinary funding
databases that index opportunities for all disciplines and all types
of researchers. There are also specialized databases that provide in-depth
funding information for specific groups or fields of research and study.
-
- Funding alerts are email notifications of new funding opportunities
in specific fields or from individual sponsors. Many alerts can be
customized.
-
- There are other online resources such as websites, pathfinders, and publications
that are specialized by type of researcher or field of study. Look here for
additional information specific to faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars
or graduate students.
-
- Reference books on funding opportunities, grantmaking organizations, and
proposal writing as well as a collection of successful graduate fellowship
proposals are available for use at the GrantSource Library.
