Drawing on her childhood in Louisiana, Margaret Sartor documents the
paradoxes of life in the deep South, where myth and reality sometimes
collide. This photograph is part of an on-going series called The
Natural History of Home. Her work recently appeared in A New Life:
Stories and Photographs from the Suburban South, published in 1996.
Sartor received her B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill in 1981.
